He would still tear up the floor on a turn, or gouge accidentally at unstable walls. ![]() The claws at his feet are what usually help stabilize his running gait, but not very reliably. He’s all power, always, putting his full weight into each of his steps. Miguel’s sprint would terrify the new recruits. The room’s Spider-holo assistant fires the start signal. But he gets ready on his usual practice obstacle course, runner’s position locked. Sometimes Lyla swears he’s difficult on purpose. “Then just go ahead and do your little workout routine, Miggy.” Lyla puts her arms in the air, flickering between two flattering gestures. “What is it? I haven’t heard this song before.” “Playlist ‘White Noise’, which I just set up and tailored for you, is now playing.” The upbeat electronic music that starts playing from his suit’s internal comms startles Miguel out of his ready pose. “Lyla, play some white noise while we do mobility tests.” Both times, she reads good, passing results, within his usual numbers. She checks his vitals twice before they get to their destination. ![]() Lyla hovers on his shoulder the whole way. He’s still off of work, but that doesn’t stop him from ordering Spider-people to go do more productive things on his way to the Spider-training hall. His forgoing of rest-time is of no surprise to Lyla.
